Game Recap

It took 28 seconds for the Golden Lions to score the first points of the 2015 season. The Golden Lions had 400 yards of offense in the first half and finished with 540 yards of offense. Shelby was led by Quarterback Darquez Lee who completed 16 of 22 passing attempts for 324 yards, 5 touchdowns (tied a school record for most TD passes in a game) and 2 interceptions and also had 1 rushing touchdown. Jayden Borders had 8 receptions for 181 yards ( set a school record for most receiving yards in a game, previous record was 143 yards set in 1965) and 2 touchdowns ( tied a school record for most receiving TD’s in a game). Calvin Camp had 20 rushing attempts for 189 yards in his first game with the Golden Lions. Camp also had 1 reception for 9 yards and 1 touchdown.

Defensively, the Golden Lions were led by Dax Hollified who finished with 17 total tackles, Josh McGill who had 7 total tackles ( 3 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery). Michael Carson had 9 total tackles. Will Stites had 8 total tackles. Shelby surrendered 200 total yards of offense in the first half but only 70 yards in the second half for a total on 270 yards.
