The Golden Lions hosted the West Iredell Warriors in the 1st round of the 2019 North Carolina 2AA playoffs. The Golden Lions scored on 5 of their 8 first half possessions along with an interceptions return TD to take a 42-0 lead at the half. The 2nd half was played with a running clock as the Lions added 2 more scores and the Warriors had their only score in the 4th quarter. Shelby advances to the 2nd round with a 56-7 win and will host the Maiden Blue Devils next Friday night at George Blanton Memorial Stadium.
