The Golden Lions traveled to Rutherford County to face the Chase High Trojans in a conference matchup. The Golden Lions started out quickly and led after one quarter 34-6. The Golden Lions had 8 possessions in the 1st half, scoring on all 8 for a 55-6 advantage at halftime. A running clock was used in the 2nd half as the Golden Lions continued their undefeated streak against the Trojans. The all-time series between the two teams now stands at 54-0-1. The Golden Lions will return home next Friday to face County Rival Burns Bulldogs for sole possession of 1st place in the South Mountain Athletic Conference. The Golden Lions will be looking to extend their school record home winning streak, dating back to 2015, to 32 games.

The Golden Lions offense generated 523 yards and 19 first downs. The offensive line led the way for 166 yards rushing and 357 yards passing. The Golden Lions had 436 of those yards in the 1st half. The Golden Lions played their offensive reserves in the 2nd half. Isaiah Bess attempted 22 passes completing 14 for 311 yards and 5 TD passes. Diavonni Daley had 5 receptions for 135 yards and 2 TD’s. Ja’hari Mitchell had 4 receptions for 132 yards and 2 TD’s. Mitchell also had 2 rushing attempts for 30 yards and 1 TD. Donye Fuller had 12 rushing attempts for 61 yards and 1 TD. Omar Phillips had 6 rushing attempts for 56 yards and 1 TD.

The Golden Lions defense allowed the Trojans 174 yards of offense, 27 yards rushing and 147 yards passing and only 8 first downs. Jack Hollifield led the way with 12 total tackles including 2 tackles for loss. Santanna Flack had 5 total tackles including 3 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. Dashaun Christopher had 5 total tackles and an interception.
