The Golden Lions remain undefeated in conference play by defeating the East Rutherford Cavaliers 31-14. This game was moved up to Thursday night due to the forecast of all day rain on Friday. The Golden Lions will host the South Point Red Raiders next Friday night for the conference championship as both teams enter the regular finale at 4-0. The Golden Lions have now won 7 straight games.

The Golden Lion offense finished with 368 total yards (93 rushing/275 passing), 14 first downs and zero turnovers. Isaiah Bess went 17 of 29 passing for 275 yards and 2 TD’s. Diovanni Daley had 4 receptions for 155 yards including a 75 yard reception which led to Shelby’s 1st TD of the game to take the lead at 10-7. Santanna Eaves added 5 receptions for 50 yards. Donye Fuller had 20 rushing attempts for 73 yards and 2 TD’s and 1 reception for 23 yards and 1 TD.

The Golden Lion defense allowed 238 yards of total offense (169 rushing/69 passing). The defense forced the Cavaliers into 3 turnovers, 2 interceptions (1 by Dashaun Christopher and 1 by Dorian Davis) and 1 fumble recovery by Jaylon Scott which led to Shelby’s last TD of the game to seal the win.
