The Golden Lions defeated the North Davidson Black Knights 42-21 to win the 2018 2AA State Championship which is the 17th State Championship in school history. This championship is the 5th in the past 6 years. The Golden Lions finished the season on a 12 game winning streak.

The Golden Lions offense gained 327 total yards (135 rushing/192 passing) and 17 first downs. Isaiah Bess was 18/27 passing for 192 yards, 3 TD’s and 3 INT’s. Bess finished the season with 4,013 yards and 40 TD’s. Donye Fuller had 27 rushing attempts for 94 yards and 1 TD. Fuller finished the season with 1,012 rushing yards and 15 rushing TD’s. Diovanni Daley had 6 receptions for 103 yards and 2 TD’s. Daley finished the season with 54 receptions for 1.033 yards and 12 TD’s.

The Golden Lions defense allowed 271 yards to North Davidson (55 rushing/216 passing). Jack Hollifield had 11 total tackles including 2 tackles for loss and 1 Interception which was returned for 93 yards for the first TD of the game. Nick Stites had 9 total tackles. Jaylon Scott had 9 total tackles including 1 tackles for loss. Scott also played offense late in the game, gaining 40 yards and 1 TD on 5 rushing attempts. Dorian Davis and Dashaun Christopher both had an interception. Caden Sheeley converted all 6 extra point attempts.
